Today we have new drawings from Bruce Alcock, Nathaniel Akin, Michael Mann and Justin Longoz. Bruce’s film is going to be in a gallery show! The Christina Parker Gallery, in conjunction with the Nickel Film Festival and the 15th biannual Sound Symposium, will be showing selected artwork, props and set elements from Vive la Rose along with fifteen new 24×36 paintings of defining moments from the film. This is the first in a series of work-in-progress postings bringing us from the beginning of Bruce’s painting process, to the finished product. We will be posting more photos as Bruce completes more of this project. This is gonna be like the Jazz Festival meets the Pemeberton Music Festival meets Sasquatch meets All Tomorrow’s Parties meets Lalapalooza meets SXSW meets Pop Montreal meets Fun Fun Fun Fest meets Woodstock, minus the music and fans and mud and tents but PLUS a bunch of minimalist collages! Ladies, get ready to take off your shirts, because the most exciting collages you’ve ever seen are about to BLOW YOUR MINDS: Those were pretty cool, but the water was like 10 bucks a bottle and the port-o-potty was like the bathroom in Trainspotting. All in all i had an “Okay” time. -Justin |
