Outdoor Stop-motion Sketches 01: The Wild Labrador

I love fly fishing for Atlantic Salmon, which I sometimes do in Labrador. Woods, rocks, flies: this stop-motion sketch shows the 3 iconic elements of the place. Should be more flies really.

FRIDAY NIGHT FEVER LEADS TO SATURDAY MORNING NOSTALGIA

This excellent street poster reminded me of the time I met Colonel Sanders. I was a kid, maybe 12 years old, on a family road trip from Newfoundland to PEI. We stopped at a kids’ summer camp locally known as a “tard camp” (yeesh), and there was the Colonel himself, hands resting on the cane, dressed in all whites and a good ol’ Tennessee string tie. Weird vibe. He was passing out tiny red plastic sculptures of himself, which I found very disturbing: his own set of avatars, poised to infiltrate rural Canada from the homes of developmentally delayed children. OK, they were banks: each tiny Colonel had a narrow slit in the top of his head.
